Ruan Lessing is currently busy with his PhD in psychology, and more specifically in the realm of moral psychology. He has also completed a Masters of Psychology degree (Research) in the same field which places him in a unique position to understand relationships and emotions.

He has completed two Honours degrees in Psychology. Since March 2015 he has been a Registered Counsellor Health Professions Counsel of South Africa. He completed an internship at Steve Biko Hospital and at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Pretoria West (2014).
